Times:
Meet: 9:45 am — Ready to start the hike at 10 am
Usually the whole hike takes about 3 - 4 hours
Meeting Point:
Lothianburn Bus Stop car park - turn right just after The Steading pub, car park is immediately on the left

Weather & Clothing:
Please wear appropriate hiking shoes/boots and bring a jacket in case it's cold or wet
In cold weather please bring a hat and gloves
In sunny weather you may also want to bring a sun hat, sunglasses and suncream
The weather in Scotland can change quickly. It can be colder and windier on the hill than in the city
Route & Terrain:
The hike is about 6km (3.8 miles), and includes about 350m (1,100 feet) of elevation
Some sections of the path are steep, rocky, and loose
There will be plenty of opportunities to stop, take photos, and admire the view
Occasionally, the route may need to be adapted due to the weather conditions or group members
Highland Cows:
The Highland Cows graze freely on the hillside, so we won’t know exactly where thy are
There may also be an opportunity to see some cows at the farm
Food and Meals:
Please bring personal food and water for during the hike
You may also wish to book a meal at the Swanston Brasserie for when we finish the hike
Also Note:
There are no toilets anywhere on the route
Parking: Sometimes the small car park where we meet can be full. Allow time to find an alternative, or arrive by taxi or bus.
