Our hire bikes are from Ridgeback; a very popular “road hybrid” style bike suitable for use on roads, cycle pathways, bridleways, road touring etc. This year's model is the Ridgeback Vanteo. It's equipped with a rear topeak expedition pannier rack & bottle cage. we do not supply kid bikes at this time.

We had fantastic and friendly service from Gear Bikes. Four family members - two from USA, two from England - rented bikes (and one set of panniers) for a week to cycle the John Muir Way.
When we came in, Sandy could not have been more thorough. He took a good hour to make sure all bikes and helmets were the right fit. He was so friendly and passed on lots of JMW tips.
Joe was also friendly, helpful and responsive, right from the get-go when we first made an inquiry. He was responsive out-of-hours when we wanted to extend the rental by a day.

Bike/Bikes can be collected from 10am to 6pm on pick-up day, and returned between 10am and 6pm from Monday to Saturday
Sunday pick-up and return is 12 midday until 5pm (Sunday only)
